Natalie & Jason opted for a natural and relaxed vibe at their Browsholme Hall wedding

Natalie and Jason were married at Browsholme Hall & The Tithe Barn on Saturday
26th March 2016.

Where did you first meet?

Jason
and I first met at Leeds Met University over 12 years ago now, where we were
room mates in the halls of residence.

How did Jason pop the question?

After
university, travelling and working in London we both decided to move to Hong
Kong for work. We were heading to Cyprus for my best friends’ wedding in
the summer when Jason popped the big question. Luckily, this was the day after
their wedding and they were over the moon for us. This was extra special
as he wanted me to be able to celebrate with my best friends from home. Such a
perfect place to do it.

What made you fall in love with your wedding venue?

Living
in Hong Kong was not the easiest when it came down to wedding planning but
luckily my mum was amazing and actually works in the wedding industry.
She was on hand to go to lots of wedding venues and we decided on
Browsholme Hall & The Tithe Barn before we had even seen it. We
eventually visited the venue when we returned for Christmas; it was
absolutely perfect and just what we were looking for.

Did you have any particular colours or theme for the day?

We
wouldn’t actually say that there was a particular theme or colour for the
day. Everything was pretty rustic and in keeping with the Barn. Hedgehogg
Florist did an amazing job and made beautiful arrangements that were very
informal to go with the relaxed and natural vibe that we were going for. The
button holes and bouquets were so beautiful.

How did you find your wedding suppliers? Did you visit any wedding fairs for
planning inspiration?

Once
again my mum spent lots of weekends going to wedding fairs that were held at
the Barn to get an idea for the different suppliers. This is where she
found the amazing duo ‘The Remedy’ that played for us before the ceremony and
whilst we were having canapes. Guests all commented on how beautiful they
were.

We
also came across The Dollz by Samantha Mercer hair and make up team. They were brilliant
and so flexible with me being so indecisive on the day. They had a lot to
cope with on the day too with 6 bridesmaids all with completely different
styles. I would highly recommend the ladies and it was great to
have them there on the morning of the wedding.

How did you find your perfect dress?

Finding
my perfect dress was actually pretty difficult. Living away from home I
felt very pressured to find the dress in the short time in the summer when I
was back home. After several different bridal shops, I finally went to
Ava Rose Hamilton in Barrowford. The staff there were lovely and really
listened to what I had in mind. When I arrived the manageress had already
picked a dress that she thought I would like and I loved it! All sounds
great…..… however, when I returned at Christmas to try my dress on, I
wasn’t exactly wowed by it. The ladies there were so nice and let me try
on an Ian Stuart dress on that caught my eye when I walked into the shop,
completely different to anything that I ever would have tried before! I
loved it straight away. It was too late to order another dress in, however
the lady let me have the sample that was actually my size. The seamstress
worked wonders, and with lots of alterations, changing it to exactly how
I wanted it, it was the perfect dress. The team at Ava Rose really
listened to exactly what I wanted and went the extra mile to accommodate me in
the little time I had in the UK.

What was your first dance song?

We
were lucky enough to find ‘The Rush’ band that was recommended to us from
a friend. They were amazing, had great energy and really got the party
going, everyone was on their feet from the start until the very end of the
night. The band played Sting and the Police, ‘Everything She Does is Magic’ for our first dance which has always been one of our favourites.

What is your most vivid memory of the day?

There
are so many wonderful memories from the day. The most vivid memory for
me was when we popped out of the Barn for a moment and then looked back in to
see all of our family and friends enjoying themselves. It really is such a nice
feeling to have everyone come together for the special day.

Who went the extra mile for you on the day?

Our photographer Mick
Cookson definitely went the extra mile on the day. From the moment that we met
him to go over the wedding day he put us at ease with his professionalism and
friendly character. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side on
the wedding day, however Mick did not let that stop him and still managed to
capture amazing shots of the day. He was even willing to stay
later than planned to get a few extra pictures of the party on the dance floor.
It was so exciting when we got the pictures back, which really captured
the whole day with natural and genuine shots.

Finally, if you could offer any piece of advice to every bride-to-be, and
groom, what would it be?

My
only advice would be to not stress over the little details. Lots of
things didn’t go ‘to plan’ on our day, but that really didn’t matter. The
people; family and friends, and of course each other. are what the day is
all about.
