Simple Whites & Neutrals in this Elegant Eaves Hall Real Life Wedding

Chris & Alex tied the knot at the beautiful Eaves Hall in Clitheroe. Wedding date: 8th April 2016. Thanks to Alex for sharing her perfect day with Little White Books.

“I had the most
amazing experience planning our wedding. I knew exactly what I wanted from the outset and, in my opinion, it all turned out perfectly, everything we wanted.

Chris and I got engaged in New York in February 2015. Our hotel room
had the most perfect setting with
floor to ceiling views of the Empire State Building (Chris knew I had always
wanted to visit the Empire State Building since I was a little girl). We sat in
our hotel’s roof top bar sipping Prosecco whilst taking in the view, followed by an evening of jazz, whiskey
and a visit to the top of the Empire
State at midnight – I am biased but I have to say my proposal was perfect!

We first visited
Eaves Hall (our wedding venue) on the weekend we returned from New York. We
knew instantly it was the one, from the initial drive up through to our first
meeting with the most helpful and friendly staff you could ever hope to meet.
There was no pressure, it was such a relaxed environment in a beautiful
setting. We visited a number of other venues across Lancashire and Cheshire
simply to make sure we weren’t just choosing the first place we saw, but
nothing compared and the exclusivity was perfect for us and our guests.

Our theme was
simple, yet elegant. I knew I wanted all white flowers and a neutral theme and
for me, the less fuss the better yet at the
same time wanting to maintain that
wow factor. We considered various extras, but soon came to realise that
just wasn’t for us. Plus we knew the venue would speak for itself. Quite
simply, we agreed less is more on this occasion.

As for my wedding dress… I tried on so many, yet ended up going for the
first dress I tried on at Lulu Browns in Whalley.
The shop was recommended to me by a friend and wow – what an experience.
The shop is simply stunning and the girls were a dream. I told them the kind of
thing I was considering and they brought a selection for me to try whilst my
mum and sister drank tea and ate cupcakes. We had the best day there and the
staff could not do enough to help me. My Modeca gown and the Richard Designs
cathedral lace veil were perfect. I felt like a princess all day.

Chris and I had
agreed that the day was all about our friends and family and enjoying the day
together.
The last thing we wanted was to be dragged away for photos hours on end as we wanted to enjoy the day with our
guests. Our photographer Andy (Andrew Keher) was the most perfect choice. He
just understood us immediately. He took us away for short bursts throughout the
day and avoided the (in my opinion) exhausting staged photos and I have to say
the pictures speak for themselves.

The best part of
the day for me was when I walked into the ceremony room for the first time. As
I walked down the aisle with my dad and saw Chris for the first time I could not get over how perfect the room
looked. The music (by Leos Strings), the decorations (Creative Cover
Hire) and the flowers (Voila in Clitheroe) were
all spectacular and exactly how I had visualised that moment to be. Our family
and friends were in awe of the venue and in particular the top table flower
arrangement which was magnificent. I also particularly liked the fact Eaves
Hall have a lodge for the bride the evening before. It saved the stress and
panic about getting to the venue on the morning of the wedding and ensured the
day ran smoothly.

It also meant my
bridesmaids, mum and I had a relaxing and enjoyable morning getting ready with
the incredible hair and makeup artists from Flossy & Leigh, who made the
whole ‘getting ready’ experience unforgettable. They just felt like part of our
group; laughing and joking and discussing the details of the day ahead. The
results were incredible. They simply transformed us. They had listened to
exactly what my bridesmaids and I wanted and did not stop until they had
created the perfect look. I felt beautiful and I could
not have asked for more.

Finally walking
into the dining room for the first time ahead of the wedding breakfast… I had
never seen anything like it in my life with the cake by Pink Frosting Cake
Company taking centre stage, and rightly so.

Our first dance
was Ed Sheeran “Thinking Out Loud” which although perhaps it may be a little
over done at the moment, meant a lot to us and our guests seemed to appreciate
the choice too.

The only advice
I could give other bride and grooms would
be PLAN! Make sure you get your ideas together and tell your suppliers
exactly what you want and expect in
advance, so that all you have to do on the day is relax and enjoy. Also,
make time for one another because it goes so quickly and after all it is your
special day – it only happens once and is over way too quickly. That said, if
things don’t go 100% to plan on the day –
so what?! It will still be the most
memorable and perfect day you will ever have so just enjoy it.”
