Rustic romance and elegance – a styled shoot at Charnock Farm

Charnock Farm is a magical place. Situated in the semi-rural outskirts of
Leyland and just minutes away from junction 28 of the M6 motorway, this
family-owned venue offers a quirky, rustic backdrop for your Best Day
Ever. Team LWB absolutely love styled shoots
– they’re the ideal way to show just how perfect a setting is for a wonderful
wedding and gives creative suppliers the opportunity to share their talents and
skills with you, our following brides and grooms.

All of the shots were taken by the awesome Jack from Project Valentine – a creative, modern and fun photographer who you regularly attends
Little White Books wedding fairs and shows.
Jack really is a pleasure to work with, with an eye for quirky detail he
reflects the personal style of his couples and produces fantastic shots that
brides and grooms can treasure forever.

Here’s what Jack had to say about out the venue
“Charnock Farm is the perfect place to host your barn inspired wedding,
with a reception room that’s full of rustic charm and grounds that spoil you
for choice when it comes to taking photos. My favourite shots are the ones on
the bridge and against the raw brick but there are photo opportunities galore
– you can even have your picture taken with
the farms on site animals! There’s plenty of opportunity to get some amazing
photographs at this venue as it has so much to offer and so much available
light.” View more of Jack’s beautiful work and connect with him about your
big day on Instagram @project.valentine

The barn at Charnock Farm boasts a high vaulted ceiling with
exposed real oak beams and red brickwork offering you a contemporary yet rustic
setting for your special day. The function room is also licensed to host civil
ceremonies of up to 100 guests as well as a sit down meal of the same number.
For an evening reception they can accommodate up to 150 guests. Get to know the team at Charnock on their
Instagram page @charnockfarmweddings

For our shoot the barn was dressed by Mel at Add A Little
Sparkle, who regularly works with the Charnock Farm team. Rustic elegance with added Sparkle, Mel
created a beautiful setting complete with bespoke lights that really brought
the space to life. See more examples of
their work and connect on Instagram @addalittlesparklelancs

The dresses for this shoot were provided by the bridal
boutique on site – Brides at Charnock Farm – so if you want to look at dresses
at the same time as viewing your venue pack your groom-to-be off to The Mill,
the fantastic pub on site, and make an appointment with Gemma! She has created a beautiful haven for brides
with soft grey and rose gold décor, lush carpeting and a sensational range of
eclectic gowns.

For this shoot we went for two looks – the first is the
gorgeous Teres gown by designer Oksana Mukha – Ivory Satin with box pleats and
detailed with lace edging to the bodice. It’s backless and comes with hidden
pockets, which look amazing and are so handy (for a vintage, lace handkerchief
for any ceremony tears!) With a price
tag of £795 you would be forgiven for thinking it cost a whole lot more –
absolutely stunning and great value for money.

The second dress is made by Zavana Bridal from Cotton Lace
with a unique design. Column dresses
with no train are perfect for a bride seeking an easy to wear look, with
exquisite pearl and crystal embellishments on the waistband. Zavana Bridal are new to the UK and Gemma is
currently the main stockist in England for their collections. They are bringing
a new concept of design to the bridal market. Priced at £1295. Check out more of Gemma’s range on Instagram @bridesatcharnockfarm

And now for the Glam Squad – every brides best friend on her
wedding day! We were thrilled to team up
with Kerry Baker: Makeup Artist and Carly’s Creations Hair on this shoot,
they’ve both styled Little White Books cover shoots in the past and they’re a
dream to work with – full of creative ideas and the skills to make dream bridal
looks your reality.

Our model for the day was the lovely Abbie from Boss Model
Management. For the makeup Kerry wanted
to create a look which echoed the romantic, rustic styling surrounding the
shoot. She used shades of sugary pastel pink and delicate peach tones on
Abbie’s eyes and cheeks and framed her eyes with soft, wispy lashes. Her skin
was given a dewy finish with an Illamasqua liquid highlighter for that ‘lit
from within’ glow. Finally, the look was completed with Kerry’s absolute
favourite lip colour: Urban Decays new Vice Liquid Lip in shade Trivial. This
wonder product absolutely stays put, doesn’t dry out lips and didn’t need
topping up once during the shoot!
Kerry’s Instagram feed is packed with pictures of happy brides who look
and feel their absolute best – take a look here @kerrybmua

With two dresses we needed two beautiful hair styles, and
Carly pulled two amazing looks from her bag of tricks! For the Oksana Mukha Ivory Satin gown Carly
created height at the front incorporating twists with plenty of texture, weaved
in a statement hair vine piece, then created a puffball and finished off with a
fishtail plait and butterfly pin accessories.

For the lace Zavana Bridal look we wanted a simple, rustic
look that complimented the dress with no embellishments to keep the look
natural – simple braids are a great low-maintenance option if you don’t want to
be thinking about retouches on your day, and this look transitions beautifully
from day to night. Carly is a huge fan
of the Neal & Wolf range and their products helped achieve both looks. Check out more of Carly’s work on Instagram @carlyscreationshair

How beautiful are the flowers for this shoot? Created by
Carol at The Blossom Room, we can’t get enough of both bouquets! With the first
dress the bouquet was created using oversized meijer sweet avalanche roses,
pink astilbe and tulips and fragrant freesia in pale pink with several foliage
varieties such as soft ruscus, eucalyptus, umbrella fern and leather leaf and
asparagus fern to soften the look. Those amazing feathers! Using a soft grey
peacock feather with hint of pink throughout, drawing inspiration from the
surroundings and achieving the brief of rustic elegance. For the second look Carol used white
delphiniums and pink tulips with flowing satin ribbons and again included
peacock feathers and hints of green that worked beautifully with the lace
dress. Find Carol on Instagram and take

And now for the cake – isn’t this Ebella creation just
wonderful? We briefed Emily from Ebella on the colour scheme and the venue –
spring flowers with a rustic edge – so she chose a log base and a stag motif
and incorporated the colours and feathers used in the floral arrangements.
Emily worked in the square middle tier to add a unique twist, and her delicate
painting and rose icing skills produced the magnificent finished piece. A real talking point for any wedding, and oh
so delicious! Emily kept the team fed all day with the most amazing cupcakes –
delectable lemon and a punchy salted caramel (especially for our very own Kerry
Baker!) Connect with Ebella on Instagram @ebella.creations
