All Great Weddings end with an Amazing Party! Styled Shoot at Ashfield House

When we talk to couples about their wedding plans it’s
obvious that more and more of them are aiming to give their guests a fantastic,
unique experience as well as a fabulous evening reception. Ashfield House know everything there is to know about creating the right party atmosphere which you can see for yourselves, this Thursday evening, at the Ashfield House #PartyEdit!

Recently, we pulled together a styled shoot that reflects the whole experience of a fabulous,
decadent wedding celebration and we were thrilled when Ashfield House agreed to
be our hosts.

2017 was a spectacular year for Katie Street and her amazing
Ashfield House team. They began the year
winning the Best Wedding Venue (Town/City) at the Wedding Industry Awards,
followed by a double win at the Great Northern Wedding Awards 2017/18 where
they scooped Best Independent Business and Most Innovative Business. Ashfield House is a wonderful venue, with
thoughtful and innovative attention to detail throughout. This is reflected in
how their staff look after their wedding parties. They really are more like a
family than a team of colleagues. No
request is too much trouble, and they’re always looking for new and exciting
ways to give couples and their guests the very best time of their lives.

We gathered a crack team of wedding suppliers to pull
together the perfect vision of a beautiful, elegant wedding, followed by an
incredible feast and a fun-filled, super-cool party. And with Stella Fotos
behind the lens we knew there would be lots of laughs, and the images show just
how much fun we had.

And finally, here’s our six top tips for a wedding party to remember!

Be selective – if you want your evening reception to be
incredible consider this when selecting your venue. Is the dancefloor space big enough for all
your favourite people? What time does
the music have to be turned down? Make
sure your venue is the kind of place that is happy for you to party hard (while
drinking responsibly, of course)

Be thoughtful – it can be a very long day for your guests if
they have been with you from the ceremony until the bell is rung for last orders.
Offer regular refreshments, and work in your own style. Perhaps speak to your venue about creating a
bespoke cocktail and ask that there be nibbles and water available for guests
to keep their strength up. Many couples
offer a late-night snack too, bacon butties and chip barms go down very well
after a few glasses of fizz!

Be entertaining – music really matters! Many couples choose to use the services of a
Wedding Host, who can keep an eye on time for speeches and the formal
proceedings but more importantly keep the music playing. You can incorporate live singers, musicians
and DJ’s but our advice is to keep the music on all day and pump up the volume
for your evening reception.

Be clear – your guests want you to have the Best Day Ever,
and will follow your wishes but it’s up to you to let them know what your
wishes are. If you love a bit of
Instagram use signage to encourage your guests to share their own photos using
your own personalised hashtag, but equally if you don’t want your wedding on
social media make sure your guests are in the know.

Be YOU – enjoy your day!
Guests take their lead from the couple who are getting married, and if
they see you bopping away on the dancefloor enjoying a cocktail they will join
in! If you want to let your hair down,
then do it!

Be thankful. Thank you cards mean so much to guests, and we
think it’s very important to thank people for sharing your wedding day. Your guests will remember your event even
more fondly when they receive a thank you card, even more so if you can include
a snippet about them from the day. Was
their breakdancing the talk of the night do?
Did their toddler try and make a break for it during the ceremony? Make your thank you cards personal, and your
guests will love you for it!
